SPECIAL NOTICES.

To the Voters of Guilford.—I am a candidate for the office of Superior Court Clerk.  I had announced myself before the South was invaded.  Duty and patriotism require that I should go in defense of that country which gives me life and protection, and I have volunteered for twelve months.  Should I be elected, the office shall be punctually attended to.

I respectfully solicit the votes of the Freemen of Guilford.

John W. Payne
